Why Earth-Friendly?
Awareness of indoor air pollution ,as an environmental issue is relatively new, indoor air pollutants can have short term and long term effects on our health.
Indoor studies have indicated that levels of pollutants can be 25 times higher than outdoors, and in some cases as much as 100 times
Cleaning products that contain hazardous chemicals may pose a health threat ,and exposure to such chemicals can cause irritability, headaches irritation to the eyes,lungs and skin,and even to the nervous system.
The effects from some cleaning products will show immediately and in some people the understanding is that these effects will not show for many years.
Some times we talk as if the environment were something separate from ourselves,as if we can remain unaffected ,even as the environment is being degraded around us.
But we to are being affected:
- The water we drink the air we breathe are all extremely vulnerable. It takes only small quantities of solvents and other chemicals to pollute the water we use. The chemicals found in modern cleaners find there way into our rivers,lakes and underground water supply.
- The compounds released from aerosol cans are responsible for depleting the ozone in the atmosphere, the gases from certain products add to the poison floating in the air which we know as pollution.
Being alert to the ways in which our environment is being degraded is the first step in helping us to all to turn the situation around, which is why as a cleaning & maintenance company aware of Global warming and the damage this has on our environment have made the commitment to where ever possible use bio-degradable cleaning agents such as Citrus cleaning agents.
As we become more aware of Global warming and the damage to our environment we as a cleaning and maintenance company have made the decision to when ever possible to use natural based CITRUS cleaning agents such as lemons,limes & oranges.
